The happiest I have been in a long time!

Sunday, August 29, 2010

Hello fellow bloggers! Oh how I miss you all! I have not blogged in over 2 weeks!  I have not even signed in to blogger in 2 weeks! So much has happend and life has been a little busy. For tonight I have decided to put everything on hold and write though. I need some me time and some time to put a lot of thoughts in to words. Do you ever have those days? I have had so many the last few weeks but just have not forced my self to take the time to do this. A Lot has to do with I am being accused of spending to much time on the computer so I know sometimes when I blogged I would write for a longer period of time and did not want to add to the problem at hand. Tonight I don't care, I am blogging!

So In one of my last few posts I talked about my puzzle pieces fitting together. And how I like to have a happy soul. Well Hummmm Where do I start! LOL.
You know when you are working on a puzzle and you are struggling to find the next piece? When you think you found that correct piece you get all excited. Then when you go to place that piece down to find out it was the wrong piece you are disappointed. Well that is where I am, I was very excited to see how all my pieces were fitting together but now I am very disapointed to see that none of them fit. This has not made me want to give up though. Honestly it has made me want to look harder for the correct pieces.  I love putting effort in to something to find out that it was worth it. I use this in my weight loss also. People can not just sit on a couch and eat potato chips and lose weight. You have to put some effort in to it. Now some people have to put a little more effort into it then others but either way it is still effort.

So As the last few weeks Have gone by I have still been trying to eat healthy and work out. I have lost a total of 32.9lbs and I am very happy about this. This last Friday I only lost another .2lbs but I am still very happy about it  and the fact it was a loss and not a gain. This last 10 days Matt has been on "Vacation" and has thrown my whole routine off. It has been nice to spend time with him but I will be happy to get back to my normal routine and hopefully start to feel a little better about myself and my weight loss.   However since Matt was off we have had a great chance to work on our basement and starting the process of getting it finished. As with any remodel there is some stress that comes with it and that has happened, but I am thinking we have overcome most of it and are at the point we are moving on.

Another plus of Matt being home is we have tried a few new foods/dinners. I really like making our dinners with fresh foods and the taste is amazing!  Here are a few pics of what we have made (btw my date is completely wrong on my camera, and I have tried to fix it but it reverts back).
Asian Pork & Noodle Skillet
Orecchiette w/Spinach, sausage & Tomatoes
Spanish-Style Stuffed mushrooms
Spanish-Style Stuffed peppers

The peppers and mushrooms we made the same night. The recipe called for just stuffed peppers but I am not a bell pepper person at all so I decided to do mushrooms and bell peppers. However that night I ate both and LOVED both of them. This is a first for me. I actually ate something with bell peppers in it that I liked. Not only did it have bell peppers in it but It was the bell pepper. Very yummy and I recommend all the meals. And for the few friends I have that are not meat eaters the stuffed mushrooms and peppers did not have meat and both pastas I think you could make meatless...however the Asian dish would then just be glorified ramen noodles. The seasoning you use with the pork and the pork helps make that dish. We are also going to be making is Dijion-Crusted Halibut and roasted Asparagus. It looks like a very yummy dish also. We did try Mexican chicken lasagna but forgot to take pictures and honestly it was nothing but chicken enchiladas, lol.

Ok everyone, I am off but I will try very hard to blog more. But for tonight I need to try to get some rest as we have been up late almost every night the last few weeks. Looking forward to my normal routine again. Have a great night everyone!

Friday weigh in

So todays post is going to be short. I am sorry about that. Today is hectic and I am trying to find the time to sit down and write this.  I weighted in today. I wasn't expecting much and in all honesty i was expecting a gain. Last weekend was such a horrible weekend for me and as of Tuesday morning I was up 4lbs. Over the weekend i ate so unhealthy and put so much junk into my body. Since Tuesday I have been working my butt off to get the 4lbs off and it seemed like they were not coming off. Even as of yesterday I was still up 3lbs. i was very surprise to step on the scale this morning to see a .2lb loss from last Friday. that means some how over yesterday and last night I lost over 3lbs. I do blame a lot of my extra weight on water weight. Mother nature is not on my side this week anyways, if ya know what I mean :-)

So even though I only lost .2lbs I'll take it! Much better then a gain and I am almost certain next week will be better.

Ok I am off for now. Hope you all have a wonderful day!

Wk 10 Day 5

Hello everyone! So today was an adventure in my working out. Today was going to be day 2 of my C25K program and when I went out doors to walk/run I was rudely waken up by the fact that running on pavement is MUCH different then on the treadmill. I struggled very much. Actually I only did the 1 mile loop around my neighborhood instead of my full 20 min it was 15 min. My fastest mile though. LOL. I was getting bad side cramps but also my shins were hurting really bad. With every step when I ran I just had a sharp pain shoot up the front of my leg. I know this can't be normal. It wasn't like I am sore and not in shape pain it was a little more. So I am going to start paying attention to how I run. What part of my foot do I use the most and try to go from there. I was really frustrated after tonights work out but I have confidence that i can push through this and be the runner I want to be. I can't expect for this to happen over night I just assumed it would be a little easier...LOL. I had no problem on the tread mill but the race for the cure in September is not on a treadmill. So from here on out most my training will be out doors. I will be focusing on training for the race for the cure. Not that I am racing just at least be able to run some of it.

Other then all of that I really don't have much of an update for the day.You all have a wonderful night.

Wk 10 Day 4

Wow! Week 10! I had to look it up because I had not been dating them in so long I had lost count! i am 1/4 of the way through to my 40 weeks and some what right on goal. I have had a minor set back over this last weekend but it is nothing I can't over come. One of the things that has made my weight loss journey some what easy is I am on a pill called Phentermine. Phentermine helps crave that appetite and the want to eat food. I have been off My pill since Saturday and Yesterday I chose to quit drinking coffee. Well let me tell you how week I am! i ate everything in site over the weekend. And as of yesterday was up 4lbs since Friday! Oh my! Yesterday was the worst for me also, not having my pill and also being off coffee, I found myself eating everything in the house. I didn't even realize it till It was to late. So today I am writing this blog and drinking my coffee! LOL.
I love coffee, I love the taste and the fact that it helps crave my appetite. I also made sure we got my pill picked up from the pharmacists last night and i am back on my pill as of this morning also! I have some serious work now! I not only have to lose the 4lbs I gained but also lose my 3.5lbs I want to lose for the week. I don't seriously think I will accomplish both but I do think I need to give it my all! I have done so good and don't want to give up now! I know my coffee isn't hurting my diet and might have just helped me so I don't think I will be giving it up, maybe just cutting back on it.

Today I have a somewhat busy day as my house is a disaster and needs some serious work on it

I need to spend time with my 2 beautiful girls!

I also need to spend some time on my Scentsy business and getting some stuff put together for that.

BUT I also have SOOOO many blogs I need to get caught up on! I will be going down all the blogs I follow and be trying to get caught up on what all you are doing and going through!

I am a horrible follower lately and for that I am sorry! I started to get caught up yesterday on a few and will be re catching up on some today. Also do any of you have play lists attached to your blog? I am interested in a few new play lists for working out and helping me on my Couch to 5k program. Last night was my first training on it and I loved it! I was able to do it with my best friend Anya and had a fabulous time! It was a whole lot easier then I thought it would be! I ran every time I needed to and never gave up! In my 20 min I did 1.16 miles and I felt great! It was not the fastest but it is a start!

Ok you all have a wonderful day! I am off to get my kitchen cleaned and the rest of this messy house cleaned!

Luvs to all!

My puzzle pieces

So I know I said I would be blogging daily again and that this blog would be last night and it wasn't. I had full intentions of doing it, but do to everything i have gone through in the last week and the lack of sleep I had been getting I completely passed out on the couch at a way early time for me. I think I was asleep by 9:30. Which to some of you does not sound early but I normally go to bed between 11pm-12am and The last few weeks it has been between 1am - 3am and some nights even later. I think last night My body wasn't givin me the option of staying up later. The down side is I slept on the couch most the night till about 4am and then moved to the bed, so this morning I am totally exhausted and completely sore! I have been still dealing with all the soreness from my car accident and today it is double of what it had been. Today is also the first day of training for me on my couch to 5k program. I am going to have to push through all my soreness because this is something I desperately want to do! I want to be a runner. I have always been amazed by the people who can say the just took a nice run. I am excited about signing up for The Race for the Cure on 9/25/10. I am even more excited that I will be doing it with my best friend!

Over this last weekend I feel like I have been on a roller coaster. So many highs and lows and loopy loops. I Know everything is all part of the big picture and I am struggling today to see the positive. My last post i stated it was a blessing not having my car cause we then did not need to stress about the tags for it and the insurance. Well I got word my car can be fixed! in reality this is amazing news! Because I hit an SUV and went under it most the damage was done to my hood and finder and not the inside of the vehicle. there are still a few thing on the inside of the car that needs to be fixed but over all i can probably get my car up and running for $500 or less! BUT i don't have $500, if you remember I was just saying we were struggling to get the car tagged. So we have decided to let the car sit and fix it one piece at a time as we have the money to do so.

Yesterday I was a little discouraged cause I wanted to see where I was on my weight since Fridays weigh in. I know i had a horrible weekend. I ate so many foods i should not had and really set my self back. I wanted to weight to see how far i set my self back. i had gained 2lbs in 2 days! Wow! So Today I am re focused and trying to get back on track! Part of getting back on track is I am cutting coffee out of my diet. It actually started with not drinking it today as an agreement I made with Anya. I had mention to her I wanted to do a detox after this horrible weekend but also wanted to make sure I had enough energy to do my C25K training. She mentioned dropping the coffee and doing the lemon water and then eating healthy through the day. I then asked her if she was joining me on the c25k training and she hesitated to say yes. So She agreed to find the 30min in her schedule to do the training and I agreed to cut coffee. I am actually looking forward to how this will make me feel. How it will make my body feel. I know I am going to have with drawls at first but after that. Will I feel healthier? Will i have more energy? I am curious where this will take me.

So I have a very busy day But will be blogging tonight about how my first training went on my C25K plan! Have a wonderful day!

A Puzzle piece of my life.

So here I am my 2nd day in a row! Although my last post was Friday morning and I am writing this Saturday night so over 36 hours has passed. Let me tell you all something! A lot has happened in the last 36 hours! Well, let me rephrase that, A lot has happened in general in the last month!

****First I want to give a warning this post will be long and not 100% about my weight loss journey but all in all it is a piece to help me get to a healthier me. So please do not expect this all about my diet cause it is not that. This is a type of post I have never done. ****
My outlook on everything till today has been very negative and not healthy at all. I don't mean healthy as in food wise but having a healthy soul. I feel if my soul was not at all healthy. By not having a healthy soul I was setting my self up for several  failures. I was failing to really communicate in my marriage. I was saying what was on my mind but was not communicating with Matt. In this it was creating an unnecessary distance between us. Also I was slowly pulling away from my blog and all my "good habits" that I had created. As a mother I found my self more irritable and frustrated with my kids oppose to enjoying life with them and teaching them. I am still struggling trying  find how all of this started, what caused my soul to become do dirty and unhealthy? I can tell you what has caused me to realize that I was this way was my accident I had yesterday. I was on my way to help host a scentsy event when all of a sudden I find the SUV in front of me come to a dead stop. I quickly threw my car in to neutral and but everything I had on my breaks. Knowing that it was to late I braced for an impact. What all happened in just a few seconds seemed like much longer. The actual impact I do not remember but I can remember every detail right before and right after. I remember being very shookin up and upset. We pulled off into a parking lot where the gentleman in the car I had hit got out and asks if I had insurance. My response was yes, I have Liability coverage only though. In my head I was thinking I was screwed. I knew the accident was 100% my fault and my insurance would not cover my repairs. He then looks at me and say "good we have no insurance so if you don't mind we are going to get." Any normal person would have been upset about all of this. Nope I found an instant blessing. Not only did I only have liability insurance but we had not yet tagged our car which was due in July and I still have an out of state drivers license. I would have received 3 tickets for this one accident and still been out of a vehicle.  Sad to say that my car did not make it. I had grown quite fond of it and will miss it. LOL.

The reason I tell you about my accident is because I strongly believe every event in our life is a puzzle piece to a much more beautiful picture. And with out this puzzle piece my life would not be complete.
As corny as this all sounds it fits perfect in my thinking right now. I sent an e-mail to a friend of mine last night that said jokingly that I was tired with my life and was ready to trade it in for a better one. I was very frustrated that all the "bad" things kept happening and that it seemed we couldn't get out of this hole we are in. Last night I had to stay the night at a friends house due to not having a car and It was vary hard for me to lay in a bed with out the comfort of my husband next to me or to at least know he is in the house. I come to find out today My wonderful husband struggled with the very same thing. I remember laying in the bed last night on the verge of tears. I was so sore from my accident and I felt so lost. I was starting to feel the stress of not having a car and all of the "what ifs" rushed through my head. I still very much had a very negative attitude about life. This morning I woke up with a little better of an attitude but was still worried on what we were going to do. I had to focus on my Scentsy business though and had no time to sit and "worry" about what I was going to do.

Over the last year I have created some amazing friendships. I have not just created friendships with people here in Wichita but all over the globe. I will always have my best friends and those people close to me and my heart. But I have learned to open up to people and learned to let my guard down. Even though recently I let my guard down a little to much to someone, I know that I am a stronger and wiser person now and can over come my obstacle that had created for me. I use to be a very guarded person. Some one who had no problem talking to you but someone who would never fully let you in my life. Even when I would start to let my guard down I would only let you take a peek. I was afraid of being hurt. I was afraid of what YOU might think of me. I was afraid to be me!

I believe my life, my puzzle is a very unique and beautiful puzzle. I believe that it might have some dark pieces in it and some not so pretty pieces, but with out those pieces my picture would not be what I am right now.  I believe the way you look at your "puzzle piece" is the way the situation will turn out. I believe that If you want to think of it all negative and everything be dark then yes your life will be very negative and dark. If you take that piece though and try to find the true beauty of it then you will be amazed on where that can take you.

I chose this morning to take a different look at my accident and my whole weekend. It was a blessing for my wreck. The money I was struggling to come up with to tag my vehicle I no longer have to worry about right now. The money I was having to pay in insurance I don't have to right now due to not having a vehicle. This frees up a little money to catch us up on our bills or a little money to put towards some debt.

My wreck also brought me closer to a friend. My first phone call after my wreck was not to my husband. It was to my Scentsy director whom I was about to meet for my Scentsy event. I called her and let her know I was just in an accident but I would be there just as soon as I could. She offered to come get me and upon arrival immediately gave me a hug. A hug, that in that moment I felt a friendship. What is so amazing about all of this was as her and I talked I got to learn she is a walker and has done a few 1/2 marathons and is training towards a full marathon. She has struggled over the last few weeks with the training, but what she doesn't know is she encouraged me to train harder so I can join her in a marathon next year in San Diego or wherever we chose! I am very excited about this as this also helps towards many of my goals I want to achieve to becoming healthier.
As I got home and i am embraced by my loving husband who i had missed so much. And looked at the pile of junk now sitting in my drive way. I got online to check all my updates and such. I then started to talk to my best friend who has decided that her and I are going to sign up to do a 5k, the Susan G Komen for the cure race. I am ecstatic about this! This is my first official entry into anything like this. It is 9/25/10 which means I should have lost my 50lbs by then. Not only that but I have decided to start the couch to 5k program and will be starting that on Monday, so the weekend of the race I will have just completed week 7 which has me running 2.5 miles! I think I can do this! I have never been more motivated to get up and do something! I have many people to think for getting me excited about this though, and thank you to everyone of you....you all know who you are :-).

Ok, So now that I have rambled on and on and you all are probably thinking geeze does she ever shut up! Well to be honest NO...LOL. My puzzle piece this weekend plays a huge part of my goal of 40 weeks/280 days to a healthier me! With a healthier soul I am able to be happier which helps with my wants to work out and eat right. My mood is happier and my over all me is happier. I knew it has taken a while to get "me back" but I am here! I am ready! and I can't wait to see how my puzzle pieces fall!

It is extremely late here and i know I have left many things out of this blog as my brain has shut off for the night. However I will be posing a part 2 to this tomorrow. I miss you all and for the few that are still following me Thank you!  I am back and will be blogging daily again!

Friday!

So a real fast post because I am rushing out the door. I weighed in this morning and lost 3.4 lbs! And i had a short week! This is a loss from Monday! I am very excited! I am right on track with my weight loss goals! However I am seriously slacking on my Working out and my blogging! I do love to blog and I love reading others blog and have missed doing that this last week. Life has been a little hectic. looking forward to getting back to normal.

One area i have been struggling in was trying to get to the point where I was running. My biggest obstacle was my work out shorts. LOL. I know it sounds silly, but I have now lost 30lbs (well.1 pound from 30) and my shorts are big on me! They were either trying to ride up or fall down. Makes running on a TM a little difficult. LOL. I however am a proud owner of a new pair of work out pants that should work for running. I kept the receipt just in case. LOL. So I will be trying even harder now to work towards my running goals I have set.

I have a extremely busy day today. I have park time with the kids, nap time, Grocery shopping and a Scentsy event from 4-12. Oh and if any of you all are interested I sell Scentsy to help off set me staying at home and I am putting an order in this weekend! Check out my web page! If you want to order something please click on the "party" link under my beautiful picture :-) if you are here in town give me a call and i will get with you!

Ok I am off to the park! You all have a great and wonderful day!

Weigh in!

Ok! So I had my weigh in today! i think I am still going to keep Fridays as my normal weigh in day though! I am really liking Fridays as my weigh in day. I lost 1.8lbs since my last weigh in! It is not A LOT but I am happy about it. I am soooo happy to see a loss and not a gain! I am really trying to learn more about being healthy oppose to just counting calories and working out. I am trying to learn more about me and my body. What my body needs and doesn't need. What my body likes and doesn't like. I have learned it doesn't like Ice cream cake, LOL.... You can eat 1200 calories in one day and still eat junk, You could be a person that eats 1200 calories a day and that would be extremely low for you making it unhealthy. After talking with my doctor today he said I should be fine if I stay between 900-1200 calories. When I first started i was trying so hard to "eat enough" to hit 1200 calories so i found myself eating more to get in the range of 1200-1400. I had many people also tell me i should be eating more also. Well the one week I ate less all week long I was about 1000 calories a day I loss 7lbs! So I think the old doctor is on to something! Last week I did not work out near as much as I should have and I think that is why I had such a small loss. i am going to continue to focus on working out and focus on eating healthier. Eating the right amount of foods and the correct foods! On this note I am also wanting to make sure I do eat enough food/calories. I am wanting to track my daily calories burned and have been eye balling the BodyBugg for a few weeks. Then today ...Like a Fat Kid Loves Cake posted she has an extra and is giving one away! How awesome would that be if I won it! Check out her give away!

Ok, you all I am off to go relax! You all have a wonderful day! I will be blogging everyday again! (I hope, lol) ok lets make this my goal, I will blog everyday!

Have a good night!

Like a fat kid loves cake give a way!!!!!

So I started following ...Like a fat kid Loves cake days after I started my weight loss journey! More or less my journey to being healthier! I love her blog because she started around the same time I did so I am able to watch her amazing progress and how awesome she is doing! That alone makes it where I want to do better and strive to work harder! But not only is she a very positive person and seems to always have a great attitude she is being VERY genorous! She won a BodyBugg in a contest and since she already owns one she is doing a give away for this one! How awesome would that be!

I know I would use the heck out of this! It would greatly help me in my journey to becoming healthy! Becoming healthy is more then just working out and counting calories and within the last few days I have become to realize this. It is knowing how much you should eat what type of foods you should eat and getting enough calories for your daily activities. I have NO clue how many calories I burn daily other then what the Treadmill or Daily Mile tells me. With the Bodybugg I would be able to track all of that plus some! Please if you are not following her yet I encourage you all to follow her! Click on the link above to go to her blog or click Here to check out this AMAZING giveaway!

Guilty!

Okay, so I have been a horrible blogger. Isn't it funny how easy it is to get out of a habit. Over the last week I have noticed, I do not blog near as much, I do not count my calories like I should be, and I am not working out nearly as much as I should be. In my last post I said I would work on all of these and yet, I seemed to have gotten worse. Uhg! So today is a new day and a fresh re start to it all. I was VERY weak yesterday! We celebrated Matt's brothers birthday. I did ok with my actual meal, I had a hamburger with no bun but had cheese and lettuce with a teeny tiny bit of ketch up. I also loaded the plate with veggies and fruits, and then there were chips! People should know I can't keep my hand out of a chip bag. LOL. I didn't do to horrible with the chips and at least they were baked lays, so not to horrible right? Anyways, even though I had chips this does not begin to explain why I did horrible. For the cake, it was a Freddys Frozen Ice Cream Cake, Chocolate Chip Cookie dough! Oh My! It was sitting there staring at me and screaming for me to eat it! Everyone told me to have just a few bites and try it, but I am to weak and I couldn't do it that way, I had a whole slice! It was delicious! But later my tummy was telling me, I should have not ate that! It was my first "real treat" since I have started this and I could tell my tummy/body was not use to the sugary sweetness I had just put in it. Where it gave me a few minutes of satisfaction while eating it, I was regretting it all last night and even today!

You all may have noticed I have not up dated my weigh ins. Friday morning I stepped on the scale and It said I lost 2lbs. Granted I would normally take that and be happy, BUT I knew I had not lost 2lbs so I re stepped on the scale and It then began to tell me I gained 2 pounds. I ended up weighing my self a total of 4 times not once getting the same reading or even close to it. I have decided my scale is not working right. However I do have a Dr. appointment tomorrow and I will be weighed there. I am actually looking forward to it, because it was the Doctor's office scale that gave me my starting weight, not my scale. So I will have an accurate weigh in tomorrow.

I have also took 2 more pics of myself. I am Happy about my facial shot, yet not so happy about my upper body shot. In the mirror, I felt and looked skinnier. After looking at the pic, I feel I look fatter. I also have included the only picture from the past I could find that showed my body, and ironically I am wearing the same out fit. So you all tell me what you think.

So here Is My face shot :-)

The one on the left was taken in April, and the one on the right was taken yesterday. In the mirror I noticed more "curves" then what the photo shows. I don't know if it was because of the way I am standing or the way the pic was taken but I don't see it as much. Or maybe I was just "seeing" things in the mirror. Hahaha. One thing I have notice is my jeans in the before pic are giving me a BAD muffin top and now they do not. So I am losing the roll between my boobs and pants. LOL. I am going to try and dig for more pictures to do a before and after with. I did take a picture my first day of my diet but it is not one that I will post on here. I am only wearing my sports bra and Shorts, and I will shield you all from that, Hahahaha. However, when I lose all my weight and look Hot, Maybe then I will post it. :-). In the mist of looking up old pictures I did find one that has me at one of my smallest points, it is my senior pics and I weigh about 140-145 in these pics. My Goal is 135 so I should look similar to this, just more hippier cause of my 2 kids...LOL.

These were taken in 2001 and like I said I was not at my smallest here. But this is close to the size I would like to be again.

Ok Yall. I am going to get off here, I have a dirty house screaming for me to clean it. You all have a wonderful day!
